Zeroboard Research Institute

After working as a journalist for the Asahi Shimbun, he is now involved in supporting corporate and government sustainability strategies internationally. He worked on guideline revisions at the GRI International Secretariat and led eco-innovation policy research at the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry. He is responsible for knowledge management of renewable energy technology data from around the world at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and for developing strategies and policies for the green economy and climate change response at the UAE Federal Government. He served as Deputy Director of the United Nations Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), supporting technology transfer to developing countries, before returning to Japan in 2021. He served as a partner in charge of decarbonization and ESG at ERM, a foreign consulting firm, and became Director of Zeroboard Research Institute in August 2023. He has served as a director of the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB) since January 2024 and as Team Leader of the Japan-EU Green Alliance Facility since June 2024. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from the Faculty of Letters at Sophia University and a Master's degree from the School of International Development at the University of Sussex, UK.

He has 16 years of experience in sustainability management, including environmental audits, the Container Recycling Law, CFP calculations in the Manufacturing /technology sector, ESG information disclosure and evaluation responses in the corporate sector, materiality identification, and human rights policy formulation. He joined Zeroboard in December 2022. He is responsible for ESG management advisory and research on natural capital information disclosure. He completed the Master's program at Meiji University Graduate School of Agriculture and Life Sciences, with a Master's degree in Agriculture.

He has been involved in LCA work for approximately 20 years in the Manufacturing/research and development department. He established product LCA calculation methods and was involved in obtaining third-party certification and LCA calculations at the research stage. He also has experience in a wide range of activity , including public relations and academic association work. He joined Zeroboard in April 2023. As an LCA/CFP expert, he is responsible for supporting LCA calculations for products and Service. He is a former director of the Japan Institute of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at the University of Tsukuba.

In the Manufacturing /corporate division, he was responsible for general environmental management, management of environmental laws and regulations, product LCA, organizational GHG calculations, the Automobile Recycling Act, ESG information disclosure, and external relations. He joined Zeroboard Inc. in February 2023. He is responsible for consulting on LCA/CFP calculations and advisory services regarding environmental laws and Energy management. He is a member of the Japan Institute of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). He graduated from Meijo University's Faculty of Science and Technology (Mechanical Engineering).

Since 2017, he has been working for an environmental NGO, where he is responsible for Education and outreach, membership management, finance and accounting, general affairs, etc. After working in accounting and labor at a venture company and as a tax accountant assistant at a tax accountant's office, he joined Zeroboard in October 2023. He is in charge of research into natural capital information disclosure. He graduated from the College of Biological Resources, School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba (Forest Ecology).

Involved in the launch of a domestic credit system, engaged in third-party verification and plan Create support. Through the utilization of credits, we will revitalize the region and build environmental branding for companies. Zeroboard supports emission amount calculation, ESG information disclosure, and third-party verification.

He has worked in the Manufacturing/technology/headquarters department, developing production facilities, EMS, and waste management. In the corporate department, he has been involved in environmental work for 18 years, including supporting raw material production areas in obtaining Rainforest Alliance certification, conducting vineyard ecosystem surveys, using 100% FSC-certified paper for containers and packaging, responding to ESG issues such as CDPs, TCFD, and TNFD, and serving as a member of government review committees.

He will be responsible for natural capital information disclosure research as a visiting researcher at Zeroboard from September 2024. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, Ritsumeikan University.
