Zeroboard and Ryoden Corporation agree to collaborate to support decarbonization in the electronics industry

Zeroboard Inc.(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Michitaka Tokeiji ; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which develops and provides the GHG (greenhouse gas) emission amount calculation and visualization cloud Service"zeroboard , " has agreed to collaborate with Ryoden Shoji Company, Ltd. (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nobuo Masakaki; hereinafter referred to as "Ryoden Shoji") to support decarbonization in the electronics industry.

Background to the collaboration

Companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market are required to disclose climate-related financial information, and are required to calculate and disclose GHG emission amount from their own companies and their entire supply chains, as well as to formulate business strategies for reducing them. In the future, disclosure in securities reports and Financial Institution requesting disclosure from borrowers are expected to become more important than ever before in the evaluation of companies, and non-financial information will become an even more important criterion for evaluating Company size. Therefore, it is expected that many companies will be forced to respond to this.

With this in mind, we provide " zeroboard ," a cloud Service for companies to calculate and visualize GHG emission amount , which is used for calculating Scope 1 , 2, and 3. When calculating Scope 3 3 with " zeroboard ," we collect and use primary data (actual values ​​of suppliers) in addition to standard values ​​published by the Ministry of the Environment and other organizations, which makes it possible to reflect suppliers' efforts to reduce emission amount in the calculated values ​​and lead to reductions throughout the supply chain.

Meanwhile, Ryoden Trading is not only conducting external activity such as its unique environmental activity "Total Carbon Management (TCM)" which visualizes the amount of contribution made to reducing GHG emission amount , but is also focusing on sustainability initiatives, such as calculating and disclosing Scope 3 emissions in-house since fiscal 2017.

Starting with calculation support using "zeroboard," the two companies set the goal of contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality in the electronics industry, which is one of Ryoden Trading's strengths, and have now decided to collaborate in supporting decarbonization.

What we can achieve through collaboration

Ryoden Trading will introduce "zeroboard" itself and will utilize "zeroboard's" strengths of supply chain emission amount data sharing and location collaboration functions to work on improving the accuracy of its own GHG emission amount calculations, including Scope 3. In addition, by utilizing Ryoden Trading's network of business partners in factory automation products, air conditioning/heating products, semiconductors/device products, etc., the company aims to realize a decarbonized ecosystem in the electronics industry.

"zeroboard" will serve as an infrastructure for GHG data to support calculation and disclosure, and by providing reduction solutions in collaboration with partner companies, it will accelerate the decarbonization of companies and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality for society as a whole.
