Zeroboard and Softbank begin supporting corporate decarbonization management

With the support of our technology and calculation know-how, SoftBank will begin selling its cloud-based CO2 emission amount calculation Service , "Cloud Carbon Management," to corporate customers from October 1, 2023, and will also begin developing strategies and proposing solutions for decarbonization.
Following the adoption of the Paris Agreement, the Japanese government declared its intention to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in 2021, and also announced that it would aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030 (compared to fiscal 2013 levels), and further increase this to 50% (*1). To effectively promote GHG emission amount reductions toward carbon neutrality, it is essential to calculate and visualize GHG emission amount throughout the entire supply chain. Not only will Prime listed companies, which are required to disclose non-financial information, increasingly request companies in their supply chains to disclose GHG emission amount, but carbon pricing will also become fully implemented, with the imposition of a fossil fuel surcharge on fossil fuel importers and other entities starting in fiscal 2028 (*2). It is expected that many Company size, large and small, will be forced to consider decarbonization management.
With this in mind, this collaboration combines our development technology with calculation support and consulting from decarbonization support experts to build a decarbonization management support system for SoftBank's corporate clients. Specifically, we will provide SoftBank's corporate clients with "Cloud Carbon Management," developed based on "Zeroboard." Starting with calculating and visualizing CO2 emission amount, we will develop decarbonization strategies tailored to the client's Issue, propose and provide reduction solutions, and promote decarbonization in a seamless manner.
In collaboration with SoftBank, we will work to support decarbonized management that will lead to increased corporate value and the creation of business opportunities for our user companies, while also contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality in Japan.
Furthermore, Zeroboard is being introduced at the Executive Briefing Center, an experiential facility for the latest corporate solutions located in SoftBank's headquarters building.
Going forward, we will also support SoftBank Group companies in calculating their GHG emission amount.
