Zeroboard appoints Kieran Burke as CTO (Chief Technology Officer)

Kieran joined the Company through the acquisition of the " Zeroboard Inc. " business in 2024 and has since led the development of products related to that business. Going forward, he will oversee the Company's overall technology strategy and lead the further strengthening of the development system that combines products, data, and the utilization of AI.

Background to the appointment and future development policies to embody the vision

Since its founding, Zeroboard has supported corporate decarbonization and sustainability management, with its core solution “Zeroboard” for calculating and visualizing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Over time, the company has expanded its product offerings beyond GHG accounting into broader ESG domains, providing end-to-end support for sustainability disclosure. Today, Zeroboard’s solutions are used by more than 15,000 companies worldwide.

On the other hand, the ESG and sustainability fields are areas where new regulations and Issue are constantly emerging, and as our clients' Issue expand, the solutions we provide must also continue to increase and evolve. This involves many technical challenges, and it is essential to maintain a flexible and agile development system.

Our company's vision is to be a "data platform provider that enables sustainable management decisions." We will continue to develop products that go beyond simply collecting and visualizing data, utilizing AI technology to contribute to management decision-making and execution.

With this appointment as CTO, Kieran will leverage the knowledge and execution capabilities he has cultivated to date to contribute to our company's overall technology strategy.

Firstly, we aim to create a "one-stop platform for sustainability" by seamlessly integrating functions that have often been treated as separate tasks, such as emission amount calculation, disclosure, supply chain data collection, and supplier evaluation, onto a single Top, thereby strengthening the connection between products and use cases.

Secondly, leveraging our long-standing understanding of customer operations and our experience in solving their Issue, we will review the flow of information within our systems to deliver a more user-friendly product experience.

Thirdly, we will utilize AI to address the biggest burden in data collection—the process of "collecting data while maintaining reliability"—reducing manual work for our customers through OCR-based document data reading and improvement feedback on supplier responses.

Introducing CTO Kieran Burke

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of East Anglia in the UK, he began his career as a business analyst in London, where he was responsible for the upstream processes of software development, including requirements definition and test strategy formulation. He then moved to Japan and gained practical experience in large-scale document processing and cloud infrastructure, including working on the development and scaling of APIs supporting OCR technology at Cogent Labs. Based on his technical strengths in backend, system design, operational stability, and scaling, he has held senior engineer and engineering manager positions at multiple SaaS companies and startups. He leads the creation of scalable and reproducible development systems by building development processes encompassing estimation, planning, release, quality, and onboarding, and by fostering cross-functional teams. In July 2024, following the transfer of the "Dataseed" business, he joined Zeroboard, where he oversaw the strategy and execution of ESG data management, information disclosure reporting systems, and supply chain management/SAQ products as manager of the multi-product growth development division. In August 2026, he was appointed CTO. Lead the development of the company's overall technology strategy and organizational capabilities, while aligning technical decision-making with the company's overall business strategy.

ESG is an area where new regulations and new issues are constantly emerging. As our customers' Issue broaden, our solutions also need to expand or evolve, which creates many technical Issue. That's why we need to remain flexible and agile. I believe my experience can be utilized to achieve this within Zeroboard.

I began my career as a business analyst and later became an engineer. At startups like Cogent Labs, I learned how to build scalable foundations while meeting enterprise-level requirements such as security and auditing. Joining Zeroboard through the acquisition of Dataseed in 2024 allowed me to bring what I learned at startups to a larger platform. At the heart of this is the Dataseed platform, in the form of new products and initiatives.

We are ready to tackle the technological Issue ahead. Making data transparent to the world. Making the World Clear. We will realize this vision from a technological standpoint.
