We will welcome guest speakers including Kunio Ito, Director of the CFO Education and Research Center at Hitotsubashi University, who spearheaded the "Ito Report"; Takahiro Yasuno, AI engineer, science fiction writer, and member of the House of Councillors; and Yoko Maki, sustainability expert, to discuss the future of sustainability management, focusing on themes such as corporate value, sustainability, and the use of AI. Background
The environment surrounding corporate sustainability is changing dramatically. Driven by the development of various disclosure systems and demands from investors, the required efforts—such as responding to third-party assurance, providing timely and accurate information disclosure, and collecting data across the entire supply chain—are becoming more sophisticated and complex year by year. Corporate personnel spend a great deal of time and effort collecting and organizing relevant data, and in many cases, the data that has been accumulated remains merely "data for reporting" and is not fully utilized in management decision-making.
Essentially, sustainability management requires connecting data obtained from a wide range of stakeholders, including the supply chain, society, and the environment, transforming it into meaningful information, and converting it into a force for business management. To achieve this, a data platform that connects scattered data both inside and outside the company, enabling organization and utilization, and AI that can interpret vast amounts of information and extract new value, play a crucial role.
As we celebrate our 5th anniversary, we will explore the potential of sustainability management through data and AI, and consider future directions and practical applications together with leading experts and companies.
