Zeroboard wins both the Encouragement Award and the Audience Award at the 7th IP BASE AWARD hosted by the Japan Patent Office.

The company's strategic intellectual property activity and company-wide efforts to create intellectual property were highly praised.

Zeroboard Inc.(Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Michitaka Tokeiji; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which supports corporate sustainability management, is News that it has received the Encouragement Award and the Audience Award in the Startup category at the 7th IP BASE AWARD hosted by the Japan Patent Office.
In this awards ceremony, the judges selected the Grand Prix and Encouragement Award winners based on public pitches given by the finalists in the startup category, and the Audience Award was determined by public voting both at the venue and online.

Evaluation from the selection committee

In awarding our company the Encouragement Award in the Startup category, the selection committee evaluated the following points:

• With a two-person intellectual property team, they have achieved 225 patent applications and 103 registrations in approximately three and a half years.
• The company is building a corporate culture that generates intellectual property through company-wide intellectual property creation initiatives, including customer success.
• The company is seizing the "turning point" in decarbonization and sustainability, and is intensively acquiring intellectual property in new business and process areas that have become blue oceans.

About the IP BASE AWARD

The "IP BASE AWARD" recognizes the intellectual property activity and support provided by startups, and aims to encourage the use of intellectual property by startups and the development of the intellectual property ecosystem. It consists of two categories: the Startup Category and the Startup Supporter Category, and winners are selected through a public pitch judging process held on the day of the awards ceremony.

I am deeply honored to have received two awards at the 7th IP BASE AWARD: the Encouragement Award and the Audience Award. More than anything, I feel that this is all thanks to the two members of our intellectual property team who don't often get the spotlight, and to all the members who continue to generate ideas every day through our employee invention system.

Since our founding, we have positioned intellectual property not merely as a means of "defense," but as a "hybrid of offense and defense" integrated with our product strategy and business strategy. The fact that we have been able to accumulate 225 patent applications and 103 registrations with a team of two since July 2022 is a result of diverse roles such as sales, customer success, and development working together to discover new tasks and processes from the front lines of sustainability management.
