[User News] Sanyo Special Steel wins the Minister of Economy , Industry Award at the Partnership Building Awards for its collaboration with partner companies
Sanyo Special Steel Company (steel industry), a user company of " Zeroboard ," March the "Partnership Building Award, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" (※) at the "3rd Partnership Building Symposium" hosted by the Industry of Economy, Trade and Industry on March 13, 2025.
The Ministry of Economy, Industry(METI) has been promoting the Partnership Building Declaration, which aims for coexistence and mutual prosperity throughout the entire supply chain. The Partnership Building Awards were held to recognize outstanding examples of initiatives across the entire supply chain.

Contents and Zeroboard Support
Sanyo Special Company has set a target of "reducing GHG emissions by 25% by fiscal year 2030 compared to fiscal year 2021," which is in line with SBT's Scope 3 certification criteria, not only for reductions in Scope 1 and 2 but also for reductions in Scope 3 (other indirect emission amount corresponding to the company's supply chain). In January 2025, the company became the first Japanese steel manufacturer to be certified under SBT.
In response to the company's high emission amount in Scope 3 Category 1 (purchased products and Service ) and Category 10 (processing of sold products), the company began activity aimed at collaborating with its entire supply chain to understand the performance figures of partner companies, which are essential for reducing these emissions.
Therefore, we assisted major partner companies in conducting a survey about their efforts toward carbon neutrality and in holding carbon neutral information sessions for them.
Specific examples of support:
- Carbon neutral information sessions and individual consultations
- Conducting surveys and supporting data collection using the supplier survey function of "Zeroboard"
- Create of questionnaire response manual for partner companies
As a result, we received favorable comments from customers that this led to increased cooperation from more business partners and an increased response rate for the survey.
Looking ahead, the company will work to deepen collaboration with partner companies, including regularly monitoring GHG emission amount, and strengthen support for partner companies in reducing GHG emission amount, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
We will continue to support the company's efforts from both the systems and consulting perspectives.
