Zeroboard begins decarbonization efforts with Japan Automobile Dealers Association, etc.
~ Utilizing " Zeroboard " to calculate GHG emission amount at car dealerships, identifying Issue and proposing reduction measures ~
Zeroboard Zeroboard Inc.(Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Michitaka Tokeiji ; hereinafter "the Company"), which provides the GHG (greenhouse gas) emission amount calculation and visualization solution "Zeroboard," has partnered with the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Naoki Kaneko; hereinafter "Japan Automobile Dealers Association"), Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company(Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichi Hirose; hereinafter "Tokio Marine & Nichido"), and the Contemporary Culture Research Institute Company(Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Satoru Suzuki; hereinafter "Genbunken") to launch an initiative to promote decarbonization in the automobile sales industry from October 1, 2023 (hereinafter "the Initiative").
Purpose and significance of participating in this initiative
Automobiles emit large amounts of greenhouse gases at each stage, from Manufacturing to driving to disposal. To reduce emission amount, decarbonization throughout the life cycle is essential, and efforts to visualize greenhouse gas emission amount are also important.
In this initiative, in addition to supporting emission amount calculation and reduction through the use of Zeroboard , we will also conduct joint research to accurately understand the current situation at car dealerships, and identify Issue measures and good practices based on identifying and analyzing issues. By sharing this information, we will strengthen the management base of dealerships and help realize carbon neutrality in the automobile sales industry.
To visualize dealerships, we will customize our cloud Service"Zeroboard," which has been adopted by over 2,400 companies, with features specific to dealerships, and aim to make it a standard tool in the automotive sales industry going forward.
The results and Issue gained through this initiative will be effectively utilized to promote the "Carbon Neutral Strategy for the Dealer Industry - Immediate Action Plan" (※), an action plan for decarbonization that Japan Automobile Dealers Association released to its member companies in March 2023.
