[Public and private sectors work together to lead the realization of regional decarbonization] Seminar to support Manufacturing held by The Bank of Iwate, Ltd., Kitakami City, Kanegasaki Town, and Zeroboard
The Bank of Iwate, Ltd.(President and CEO: Toru Iwayama), Kitakami City (Mayor: Hirofumi Yaegashi), Kanegasaki Town (Mayor: Hirotoshi Takahashi), and Zeroboard Inc.(Minato Ward, Tokyo; CEO : Michitaka Tokeiji ; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") held a " Manufacturing Support Seminar" on May 30, 2023. This seminar was co-hosted with Kitakami City and Kanegasaki Town as part of the regional decarbonization agreement being promoted with The Bank of Iwate, Ltd., our alliance partner.
Kitakami City has been proactively attracting activity and has made industrial promotion, such as the accumulation of automobile and semiconductor-related Industry, a pillar of its urban development. Kanegasaki Town is also home to the Iwate Chubu (Kanegasaki) Industrial Park, the largest in Iwate Prefecture, where the three major Industry of pharmaceuticals, semiconductor products, and automobiles are concentrated.
This seminar, titled "Support Seminar for Manufacturing ," was a valuable opportunity to hear from representatives of the Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry who gave comprehensive lectures on a range of Contents , from the current situation surrounding the Manufacturing industry to specific support initiatives, including the importance of decarbonization in Manufacturing , the impact of the shift to EVs in the automotive Industry on the supply chain, and subsidies for manufacturers.
Shigeyuki Busujima from the Sales Department of the Sales & Marketing Headquarters of our company also took to the stage to introduce how to use " zeroboard " to calculate and visualize GHG (greenhouse gas) emission amount , which is the starting point for decarbonization efforts, and spoke about the importance of involving the supply chain and working together.
In an area with deep ties to the Manufacturing industry, we were able to provide Manufacturing and automotive Industry workers who are working to decarbonize in the future with an opportunity tailored to the local circumstances and needs, such as sharing the significance, methods, and benefits of advancing decarbonization throughout the entire supply chain.
Going forward, we will continue to work together with local governments and local companies to contribute to realizing regional decarbonization by helping to raise awareness of decarbonization and sharing knowledge.
