Based on the 2030 mission of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), adopted at the 15 Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) in December 2022, the global goal is to "halt and reverse nature loss by 2030, using 2020 as a baseline, and achieve full restoration by 2050." The word translates to "nature restoration."
In Japan, in order to achieve this international goal, the "National Biodiversity Strategy 2023-2030" was approved by the Cabinet in March 2023, and the "Nature Positive Economy Transition Strategy" was published in March 2024 to realize a nature-positive economy.
