Based on the 2030 mission of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), adopted at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) in December 2022, the global goal is to "halt and reverse nature loss by 2030, using 2020 as a baseline, and achieve full restoration by 2050." The word "nature restoration" is translated as "nature restoration."
In Japan, in order to achieve this international goal, the "National Biodiversity Strategy 2023-2030" was approved by the Cabinet in March 2023, and in March 2024, the "Nature-Positive Economy Transition Strategy" was published to realize a nature-positive economy.
