Request for Comments on Draft GRI Standards on Sustainability Disclosure for the Financial Sector
1997The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which has been developing common global voluntary sustainability disclosure standards since 2013,GRI) has recently formulated draft sector standards for three financial industries: banking, insurance and capital markets.2025year5month31Public comments are being accepted until the date. In order to gather a wide range of opinions from Japan, a webinar will be held to explain the main points of the public draft.
This set of sector standards provides a comprehensive approach for Financial Institution to understand and report on their environmental, social and economic impacts.GRITogether with the standard, this will enable effective assessment and disclosure of sustainability performance suited to the characteristics of financial Service, helping to address the transparency and accountability demanded by stakeholders.
The public comment period on the draft is an important opportunity for financial sector stakeholders to share their views and contribute to the development of standards that reflect the realities of diverse markets and can be applied globally, regardless of region.
