Issue/Introduction background
The company needed to simplify its CO2 emission amount calculations, which it was already working on, and prevent them from being dependent on individual personnel. Furthermore, as the entire group was actively working toward carbon neutrality, the company was also aiming to obtain the SBT for small and medium-sized enterprises, and was therefore looking for a system that could calculate CO2 emission amount in its supply chain.
Reasons for choosing Zeroboard
The deciding factors were that it is easy to Action, the figures it calculates are backed up, and it has strengths in calculating GHG emission amount in the supply chain. In addition, we were also encouraged by the recommendation of Iwatani Corporation Corporation, who is also a user of zeroboard and is well aware of the system's features and the benefits of introducing it.
Introduction effects and expected effects in the future
By obtaining the SBT for small and medium-sized enterprises, we are now able to appeal to shareholders, employees, consumers, and others. The process of obtaining SBT certification also allowed us to understand our own situation internally, giving us an opportunity to consider future measures to reduce GHG emission amount in our supply chain. In the future, we would like to aim to further reduce CO2 emission amount by introducing solar power generation and switching to gas as our fuel.
